hai Hai x Whistles Launch at Cafe Cecilia

In this week's Hai Society we're so proud to introduce you to a very special interview with our founder Tessa, to celebrate the recent launch of our collaboration with Whistles. When Whistles approached us to work on an exclusive collection of custom colour-ways in our favourite pieces, we couldn't have been more thrilled, having been long time fans of the British fashion retailer. To mark this mammoth step in the Hai journey, we celebrated with friends old and new at one of London's most exciting new restaurant's, Cafe Cecilia.

Read on for Tessa's low down of events...

How did the collaboration with Whistles come about?

Whistles reached out to me last summer while I was on vacation in Napoli. I immediately was very excited about the idea and when we had he first zoom meeting and subsequent irl meeting at our studio it all came together so naturally.

It’s been such a dream to collaborate with the entire Whistles team.

Why did whistles seem like a good fit for Hai?

Their approach to creating playful yet classic designs really aligns with us.

Plus it’s great to work with a London brand that is so established.

How did you come to decide on the colour scheme for this collection?

We really wanted to created a vibrant summer capsule that captures the feeling of nostalgia.

What’s your favourite piece?

The Florence dress is my forever favourite, it really pops in the Fuschia pink we made it in for Whistles.

What did you eat and drink at the launch party at Cafe Cecelia?

Who came down to celebrate with you?

It was such a great group, we really had such wonderful evening celebrating! Guests included our dear friends and collaborators Anousha Payne & Christie Leigh
DJ’s Louise Chen & Moxie, our old studio neighbour heartzeena, poet Charly Cox and maybe more incredible women.

Plus of course the Whistles team who truly know how to put on a good celebration.

What did you wear?

I wore our Florence dress in Fuschia with a vintage gold YSL chain belt and my new favourite leather jacket from Whistles.

What was the song of the night?

I actually made a playlist for it that you can find on the whistles website here.

Do you see Hai entering into any more collaborations in the future?

Yes, I love collaborating with other creatives be it brands or artists. We’re actually working on a couple of very exciting projects at the moment :)
